Racking my brain for something I hadn't seen before, but was still spring appropriate, I finally came up with something I'm really proud of, and can't wait to share with you all!

This manicure, done with Light as Air and Lemon Fizz (China Glaze) is super simple to recreate. All you need is at least two colors and some plastic wrap. You'll get a great, soft marbling effect without the headache of water marbling cleanup. I haven't yet been brave enough to try it, but now I'm not sure I'll need to.
Imagine the color combinations you could use! I chose two soft pastels in honor of spring, but a black and a hot pink would surely be irresistible. Once you add a topcoat (whether that be matte or shine), you'll be amazed at how your nails look.

ReplyDeleteAwesome! I had no idea anything else existed like it. Our tutorials are slightly different, as mine uses the plastic wrap to pull color off the nail rather than put it on, but they both achieve a similar effect. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad! Stick with it, it doesn't take much will power once you see how lovely your hands can look. I was a pretty terrible nail biter for a really long time. Starting this blog has helped me stop (almost completely), so I hope reading it does the same for you!
DeleteI love this look. What do you use to move the saran wrap around? A toothpick or just your fingers? I would be afaid that it would make it look bumpy?
ReplyDeleteYep, just my fingers. I just hold a little ball of it (not balled up too tightly) and press gently on my nails. The layers are bumpy at first, so you need to put a top coat of some kind on, then everything evens out flawlessly!

ReplyDeleteI loved this idea when you first posted it and I finally got around to giving it a try! I also used Lemon Fizz, but used China Glaze - Sweet Hook as the base instead. I didn't expect it to come out more yellow than lavendar, but maybe next time I'll swap out the colors! I also actually tried a matte top coat at first, but decided it looked too chalky with the yellow so then I changed it back to glossy haha.

I am planning on doing a nail tutorial on salon express stamping and was planning on having a saran wrap nail as my base for stamping. Would you mind if I referenced your blog in my video?
ReplyDeleteI saw a tutorial like this on youtube a while back, and I thought it looked good and quick and easy also. SO I tried and it turned out ok. Mine was purple with lime green on the top....sorta reminded me of ghostbusters because the green looked like slime, lol (=

Tried this and loved it! I used a white base with purple on top and two accent nails with green on top. It looks great!
